TRUCK MOUNTED CRANE TRAINING








This course is designed for workers who are required to use an truck mounted crane to lift loads.
(Under 5 tonnes with a boom less than 25ft.)

What can you expect from our class?
Upon completion of this training, workers will understand:

Understand legislative requirements for the safe use of the equipment

Understand workers, supervisors and employer’s responsibilities

Understand factors that reduce lifting capacity for overhead cranes
-
Determine stress loads created by motion, centrifugal force, resistance, shock loading, angular loading, pendulum force and distance from support center

Describe the components of a crane and their inspection requirements

Understand the importance of a pre-use inspection. Including visual checks, function checks and worksite inspections

Understand hand signal communication when using a spotter consistent with WorkSafe BC regulations
-
Understand general safety rules while operating the equipment
-
Understand proper shut down procedures for the equipment
Practical forms of evaluation are:

Participant proficiency is evaluated through written examination and hands-on crane use.
